We love when people take a deeper look at the Farm - with a few folks on the NEW self-guided sign lead path, or groups who get together and visit the farm. Our guided Farm tours are lead by one of our farmers and typically last 1 hour. We can adjust the tours to meet the needs of the group and can sometimes add a 20-minute activity at the end of the tour.
All tours include an introduction
to our farm animals, a tour of the gardens, and the basic history of the project.
Types of Tours: Free/Self-Guided, and fee-based Farmer/Educator Guided group tours
NEW! Self-Guided Walking Tour follows 15 mounted signs with information about agriculture and sustainability, generally, as well as specifics about the history and design of Medway Community Farm specifically. Tour begins near the Farm stand, and takes you all around the main property. Funded with the support of a grant from Seeds of Change.
For a more detailed experience, arrange any of the following events:
Tasting Tour: Walk the farm and taste the many varieties of fresh herbs and produce we have available! You'll be surprised to see kids and adults eating raw bok choy and pea tendrils! Expect to taste about 10 items during a tour and learn about their role on the farm.
Fields and Woodland Tour: Take advantage of the beautiful trail that encircles the farm, and take time to learn about how organic farms work with nature to protect open spaces and natural habitats while providing nutritious food. Also, learn about productive forest management in New England and the importance of wetlands.
Natural Cycles Tour: Learn about how mineral, water and energy cycles interact and make a working farm possible!
Design Your Own: Are you learning about something specific or interested in a particular topic? Let us know and we can try to create a tour that meets your needs.
