Introduction and CSA Sign Up

Greetings Medway Community Farm members and  community at large
As Medway Community Farm's new Farm Manager and someone new to the community, I wanted to say hello and tell you how excited I am to be at the farm! I'm looking forward to meeting you all personally and seeing everyone out and about.

As way of an introduction, I've been farming on a production scale now many years and before that my wife, Christine, and I were growing a small market garden in a community garden plot. It was such a great way to start because we were surrounded by people who were master growers and had the scrappy mentality to use what they could find to better their practices – something small farms and farmers do every day. I've had amazing mentors over the years (still do!) and started my farming journey on a small non-profit farm in Framingham. I love the idea of a farm being a central place and space for local communities, where people can see old friends and meet new ones, wander the fields, and feel a sense of pride that this farm is here for them.

My goal for this season is to build on the already vibrant community that is here at MCF and continue to make the farm a place of inclusion for people of all walks of life. I'm looking forward to helping steer the farm towards more efficient systems, creating a place of even more beauty than already exists, growing more financial sustainability, and of course using farming practices that hold ecological balance, environmental stewardship, and sustainability as core principles.
Please stop in to say hello, and I hope that you'll enjoy the 2018 season and everything the farm can provide.

It's that time of year again, for your CSA program Sign Up. We've tweaked the CSA program this season to bring you more vegetables through the summer and fall for a small price but big value, added a Fruit CSA and Meat CSA to round out the already robust veggie share members receive, and have added a Saturday pick up for more convenience.
If you have questions about any of the changes, please email Seth and he will be happy to discuss this season's setup.
Please visit our CSA webpage for full descriptions of the choices, options and add-on packages. Sign Up now to guarantee your place in our share this season.

Medway Community Farm’s delightful and endearing black cat, Bobo, helped prepare this exciting Farm announcement.

To our share members, Farmstand customers, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters we are pleased to introduce our new Farm Manager, Seth Terramane, who joins our organization this week. He brings many years’ journeys growing things, the most recent focused on farming as his work of choice. His multiple talents, interests, and experiences give him skilled perspective and insight that we are excited to have applied to the growth and enhancement of our beloved farm.
As Seth and his family settle into our community, and he begins new season preparation and hiring additional staff, we will be presenting the 2018 CSA Share details and sign up, news of winter popup markets, and other exciting developments.
Thank you for your continuing support and participation. We are all the Community in Medway Community Farm. Welcome to Seth and to all who are discovering and joining this year!

Medway Community Farm is sad to announce the departure of our Farm Manager, Katie Bekel. We wish her well in her future endeavors, in farming and making healthy and safe food available to more communities, and beyond. We appreciate Katie’s hard work and determined efforts on behalf of MCF, in support of our mission, and as an advocate for preserving local farmland, promoting farms, encouraging farm supporters like you, and farmers in their work.

We will keep the Medway community up-to-date on developments for the 2018 season, CSA shares, and farm stand vegetable availability when we know more, as we actively seek the best candidate to fill this position.
